2015 $75 Budget Menu Plan Week 11: Happy St Patricks Day! This is a great week to stock up on the following items…
Corned beef, frozen foods, cabbage (which incidentally lasts quite a while in the fridge!)

This week we purchased the following: Grapefruit, Apples, Grapes, Strawberries, Carrots, Cabbage, Corned Beef (on sale, bought several to stock the freezer), cantaloupe, hard cheese- we also picked up a few frozen food deals at Walmart (you’ve got to remember, they often have deals on Frozen foods- we were able to grab 15 bags of frozen veggies for .50 per bag, graham flour, cool whip, beets, lettuce, green peppers, cucumbers

Total spent this week on groceries: $72.90 (Remember, the goal is to spend an average of $300 or less per MONTH!)

From our Backyard: Fresh Eggs (up to about 10 a day)

From our Windowsill/ Garden: a few fresh herbs in the windowsill– cilantro, basil, parsley and rosemary

Breakfast Options for this week:

Lunch Options for this week:

For the most part when it comes to meals we try to make sure that we have a protein, veggies and a starch. I don’t follow the gooberments plate/food pyramid or whatever they’d like to call it this week. I follow the old school rule, which is. . . The plate should have Real food on it, for real people who work hard for a living and need energy to keep working (apparently to pay everything they earn in taxes!!)
Oy, can you tell I’ve been doing taxes this week?!
