FYI: Other items picked up this week included cucumber, real butter (for only $1.99 a pound!), store brand cool whip, grapes (great deal at only .99 lb), Milk, celery, cabbage, peppers at 4/$1 (local veggie stand!) and hazelnuts, which were on sale for $2.66 a pound. About the cheapest I’ve seen them in years here.

The yogurt in this weeks menu is homemade.

While the Corned beef was on sale at $2.29 a pound, we also picked up 3 to enjoy later in the year and also found a great deal on bacon 25lbs of thick cut for $20. Which we packaged individually and tossed into the freezer.

Keep in mind that although our spending for this month is a bit higher per week, it will drastically reduce our shopping expenses mid-summer when prices of certain items have a tendency to skyrocket. Also, we did not purchase lettuce this week as our plants are finally producing!

March is a wonderful month for stocking up on Corned beef, frozen veggies & fruits/berries, and more. Check out our March Sales Guide for more details
