• 2012 $50 Weekly Menu Plan Week #35

2012 $50 Weekly Menu Plan Week #35- The focus for this weeks menu plan is speed and ease. The evenings are busy for us and we spend much of our time running back and forth playing taxi for our teen sons who are active in various sports and clubs, as well as jobs of their own. As such, meals need to
be quick and easy to reheat.

This week we picked up potatoes, lettuce, celery, cucumbers, summer squash, zucchini, cream cheese, milk, kielbasa, fresh spinach, cauliflower, fresh broccoli, sugar, 2 lbs of sliced ham, flour and oatmeal. Total spent $37.64
If you're trying to pack lunches for your kids for school, keep in mind that deli meats are often on sale in late August and early September and they freeze quite well.

A few things I'd like to share: This is a great time of year to take advantage of Farmer's Market deals- we've purchased bushels of tomatoes for as little as $7.
The apples mentioned in this weeks menu are from our own apple tree.

    • Presenting . . .

The average family of 4 in the United States spends more than $700 a month on groceries alone. In the “2012 Family Guide to Groceries under $250 a Month" the author outlines how and where to cut grocery expenses to get spending under control while opening the consumers eyes to little known dirty manipulation tactics employed by retailers to seduce unsuspecting customers into spending sprees.

For many people struggling to maintain a budget, the cost of groceries is the only major expense in their control that can be drastically reduced without feeling a negative impact on their lifestyle. Liss explains in detail how to make simple changes that will not only pinch pennies, but help pinch Benji’s too!
