The story is an historical romance, and is of the type that may be put in the hands of the mythical young person without the fear that she may chance on some good old English word that she has never before seen except in Shakespeare or the Bible. It is a pleasant little story, and the heroine has far better manners and is a more possible creation altogether than any of the rest of the pest-breed of Revolutionary misses.
