2015 $50 Budget Menu Plan Week 12: Spring break is on it’s way and it won’t be long before we’re feeding half a dozen extra kids several times over the course of the week…

This week we purchased the following: broccoli, carrots, tuna, pepperoni, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, milk (for cooking), sliced cheese, apples, bananas, potatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, celery, wheat bread, blackberries, tomatoes, mushrooms

Total spent this week on groceries: $47.20

From our Backyard: Fresh Eggs (up to about 12 a day)

From our Windowsill/ Garden: a few fresh herbs in the windowsill– cilantro, basil, parsley and rosemary

  • Leftovers (Pizza Noodles,
  • 18 way Egg saladsandwiches or wraps
  • Tuna Pasta Salad
  • Key West Wraps (made with leftovers)
  • Grilled Cheese Po’ Gwrl (grilled cheese with sliced tomatoes)

  • Dinner: Pizza Noodles (Pizza egg noodles with Marinara sauce, pepperoni, sauteed mushrooms & onions)

Wednesday March 25th:

  • Dinner: Dinner Gathering with Friends/Family, bringing a dessert (Eclairs).

  • Dinner: Montreal Grilled Chicken, Broccoli Slaw

Various Snacks & Desserts:

  • Fresh Fruit Choices Available– Apples, Bananas, Blackberries

  • Hard Boiled Eggs (Perfect munchie item midday, packs a great protein punch)

The steaks listed in this weeks menu plan are actually venison. If you’ve been following our plans for awhile you’ll recall that we purchased some venison very cheaply last hunting season directly from processors. You can read more about that in previous menu plans.
