Week 4 Grocery Notes: Using the grocery guide, I took advantage of the sales in our area and purchased the following: 1 head of lettuce, 1 head of cauliflower, 3 fresh tomatoes, 1 green pepper, carrots, 1 cuke, radishes, Milk, 2 lbs ground turkey, steaks & a pot roast.
January 24th – 30thMonday 24th:
- Breakfast: Egg in the hole
- Lunch: Pizza
- Dinner: Grilled Steak, Baked Potato, Asparagus Spears
Tuesday 25th:
- Breakfast: Cereal or Oatmeal
- Lunch: Tuna Salad Sandwiches or Wraps
- Dinner: Split Pea Soup (from the leftover ham Saturday!)
Wednesday 26th
- Breakfast: French Toast Sticks (I actually use homemade french bread in place of the Hawaiian Sweet bread)
- Lunch:Twice Baked Potatoes, Salad
- Dinner: Crockpot Pot Roast, Potatoes
Thursday 27th:
- Breakfast:Muffins
- Lunch:Leftover Split Pea Soup
- Dinner: Hand held Meat Pies (from leftover pot roast)
Friday 28th:
- Breakfast: Bagels & Cream Cheese
- Lunch:Salad with chopped hard boiled egg, homemade dressing
- Dinner: Shrimp Wiggle
Saturday 29th:
- Breakfast:Crumb Coffee Cake
- Lunch:Salad or Grill Cheese Sandwiches
- Dinner: Cauliflower Snob
Sunday 30th:
- Breakfast:Fritatta
- Lunch: BLT’s, Potato Salad
- Dinner: Creamy Apple Bacon Chicken , brown rice, salad
Various Snacks:
- Muffins
- Microwave Popcorn
- yogurt
- Meringue Kisses – great munchie!
- 100 Calorie Snack Packs
Drinks included:
- Iced Tea or herbal teas
- Coffee
- Cocoa mixes
- Lemonade
A few things I’d like to share:
You may have noticed that we frequently have muffins for breakfast or snacks. Generally speaking, I prefer to make several different kinds of muffins, wrap them individually in saran wrap and place them in the freezer door. To have a perfect hot breakfast, simply unwrap, pop it in the microwave for 22 seconds and it’s the perfect temperature .
