2012 $50 Weekly Menu Week #19: It’s amazing the deals that can be found on fresh veggies late spring- this week Aldi’s had some fantastic deals including Bags of Salad greens for .49, Cucumbers for .29, a bag of 3 multicolored peppers for $1.29 and a pound of carrots of .49, avocados for .49, iceburg lettuce for .49 a head, mangoes for .49 each, as well as few other deals on cantaloupe and strawberries. In addition to all of the vegetables, fresh mango and avocado we picked up coffee, concentrated lemon juice, sugar, flour and baking powder.
This weeks grocery expense total came to a whopping $43.18
FYI:Our own garden is producing cucumbers and fresh tomatoes, summer squash isn’t far behind! For those that are just joining our weekly menus, we do raise our own chickens (for fresh eggs) and get about a dozen per day- So if you’re noticing a large number of eggs in our menu plans, that’s why!
Filled with an insatiable wanderlust to see the world, I've dedicated most of my life to saving money where I can so I can afford to see and do the things I want. I dug our family out of debt by reducing our grocery expense to less than $300 a month. You can too!
