2015 $50 Budget Menu Plan Week 10:We don’t about you, but we’ve it with Old Man Winter; This weeks meal plan is thinking ahead to warmer weather, ice cream treats included!
This week we purchased the following: Milk, heavy cream, oatmeal, sugar, lettuce, green peppers, red peppers, chicken quarters, tangerines (on sale), jello (several flavors on sale this week), cantaloupe, pears, spinach, Gruyere Cheese, celery, summer squash, zucchini, graham crackers, ground turkey, mango, dried cherries, raisins, cream cheese
Total spent this week on groceries: $53.81
From our Backyard: Fresh Eggs (up to about 10 a day)
From our Windowsill/ Garden: a few fresh herbs in the windowsill– cilantro, basil, parsley and rosemary
Breakfast Options for this week:
- Fresh Fruit (cantaloupe, tangerines, pears)
- Cinnamon Mango Muffins
- Eggs-poached, over-easy, hard boiled, scrambled with leftover sauteed veggies & a sprinkle of cheese, etc
- Cherry Raisin Bread French Toast
- Blueberry pancakes
- Coffee, Coffee & More Coffee

- Peppered Egg Salad on homemade Thintastic Onion Bagels
- Chicken Salad
- Spicy Ramen & Peanut butter Sandwich
- Leftover Quiche
- Taco Salad

- Dinner: Grilled Terriyaki Turkey Burgers on Homemade wheat buns, salad
TuesdayMarch 10th:
- Dinner: Chicken Parmesan, salad, garlic Bread
Wednesday March 11th:
- Dinner: Tacos with Strawberry Mango Salsa
Thursday March 12th:
- Dinner: Breakfast for Dinner, Seasoned Homefries, Over-easy Eggs and Cantaloupe slices
Friday March 13th:
- Dinner: Gruyere Spinach Quiche
Saturday March 14th:
- Dinner: Pepper Steak, grilled summer squash, potato salad
Sunday March 15th
- Dinner: Grilled Pork Chops (with whatever seasoning mix hubby decides to throw on it!) Garlic Romano Sweet Potato Fries, Salad

Drinks Available: A note about our drink offerings, while we do always have coffee and tea in the house, coffee is usually with breakfast, hot tea is usually in the evening and for the most part our other drinks consist of Water. We don’t “drink milk” at all. * Iced Tea (Unsweetened or Sweet Tea)

Other: We use tortillas as wraps for lunch all the time. Tortillas are extremely cheap to make, can be made ahead of time and frozen and make lunch on the run super fast. If you don’t like making tortilla’s, no problem- they are often on sale at Aldi’s for .99, just stock up when you find a deal.
If you’ve been following our meal plan you know we purchase an entire CASE of Pork several weeks ago. The pork mentioned in these weeks plan is from the freezer.
