2015 $50 Budget Menu Plan Week 19: The farmers markets in our area have been in full swing for several weeks now. Here are a few tips for scoring great deals …
Never underestimate your ability to bargain! Just because they have a price listed doesn’t mean you can’t barter or negotiate for a better price. Also, if you have a knack for baking fresh bread (or quickbreads), canning jams/ jellies, sometimes you can swap a loaf or a jar for fresh fruits and veggies as well!
Keep in mind the May Sales Cycles for the month as well, as you should be able to find and stock up on condiments, ribs, steaks, ground beef, tortillas (if you don’t like to make your own!) as well as many other items. View our May Sales cycle reminder page for full details.

Hi I am new to the site and am excited to try out the banana bread. However, I noticed this is a menu for May is the site no longer active? Or is there a summer lull. I really will need help planning those Holiday menus on a budget.
I have noticed that, too. I don´t get it either. They used to post every week or so, but now not at all since May. Hopefully they will pick it back up.
