weekly grocery menu for a family of 4
Week #23 Grocery Notes: I love Summer! The prices on fresh vegetables has plummeted the last couple of weeks and I found corn on the cob on sale for only .10 per ear! A great time to stock up and freeze some for later. This weeks grocery bill came to a whopping $48.73 and included 10#'s of frozen ground turkey, 50 ears of corn, 2 gallons of milk (for making yogurt & ice cream), heavy/whipping cream, pasta, cream cheese, lettuce, strawberries, blueberries, celery, green peppers, red peppers,
french bread, minced garlic (Huge jar!), granny smith apples, banana's, a few packages of frozen veggies and 10# sugar.

A few things I'd like to share : With corn on the cob being only .10 an ear, I bought several dozen to freeze for later! Kool-Aid is also dirt cheap this week, so we took advantage and stocked up on several of our favorite flavors for making our own copycat gatorade as well as various flavors of frozen sherbert and popsicles for later on in the summer.

Also, the blackberries are quite abundant this week and we've been picking hordes of them for making jams and other recipes, such as Black Raspberry Cream Pie!

Take advantage of the June Sales Cycles to stock up on various condiments,
soda, ground meat and bbq cuts (ribs!).
