Combine the tantalizing flavors of walnuts, cherries, apple pie spice and a touch of brown sugar to create a delightfully smooth, creamy dip perfect for fruits (Cantaloupe Chunks, Grapes, Apple Slices), Carrot Sticks, or butter crackers.

1 (8oz) pkg Cream Cheese
3 T. Walnuts, Chopped
3 T. Dried Cherries, Chopped
1/4 c. Water
3/4 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of Apple Pie Spice
3 T. Dried Apple, chopped
3 T. Brown Sugar

Place cream cheese in a bowl and whip gently until smooth, add remaining ingredients, roll into a ball (using a plastic spatula works great!), roll in powdered cinnamon sugar (for presentation, if desired)!

Serve with slices of apples, grapes, cantaloupe chunks. If you prefer more of a “Dip” consistency and less of a cheese ball consistency, add 1/2 c. sour cream OR 1/2 c. vanilla yogurt to the cream cheese, blending until smooth BEFORE adding remaining ingredients.

Recipe may be doubled.

This recipe is one of our favorites for snacking & travels well in a small cooler.

  1. My dip came out as a dip without adding sour cream or yogurt. It would not form into a ball. Did I do something wrong?

  2. Perhaps the brand of cream cheese? It sounds as though the cream cheese was a bit too soft or maybe too much brown sugar was added? It could be any number of things- the cherries weren’t drained enough, etc. Don’t worry about it, it should still taste delicious, regardless.
