    1 tsp. Baking Soda
    1/2 c. Shortening
    2 eggs
    1 tsp vanilla
    1/2 c. milk
    1 c. mashed banana (about 2 large)
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts *optional

Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking soda until well mixed, cut in the shortening. Add eggs, vanilla and milk until mixed. Add mashed banana last, mixing just until incorporated. (Add walnuts if desired)
