• 2012 Week#9 $50 Weekly Menu Plan

    2012 $50 Weekly Menu Week #9- Have I mentioned lately how much I adore Aldi stores? I am always amazed at how decent their produce is- this week they have spinach on sale for .79, fresh mushrooms for .69, and cauliflower & broccoli for .89 which means cheap healthy meals! Remember when you're checking your favorite store flyers that many stores will price match- which means you don't necessarily have to drive far away to take advantage of decent prices.

    This week I purchased fresh broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, spinach, 10 cans of diced tomatoes, a gallon of milk, granny smith apples, fresh lemons, ham, sliced cheese, kielbasa, mandarin oranges, green peppers, lettuce, cukes, brown sugar, flour, olive oil, fake nutella (store brand) a few pounds of shrimp, steaks (marked down!) and sour cream. Total Spent $46.13

    Here's our dirt cheap menu plan for the week . . .

    Wednesday 29th

    • Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, raisin toast
    • Lunch: Leftover Kielbasa & Salad
    • Dinner: 7th Heaven chicken, Baked Potato, Steamed Spinach

    Thursday 1st:

    Friday 2nd:

    Saturday 3rd:

    Sunday 4th:

    Various Snacks:

    Drinks included:
    * Iced Tea (Sweet Tea)
    * Coffee
    * Lemonade
    * Copycat Gatorade
    * CopyCat Arizona Green Tea

    The freezer is still fairly full of chicken that we purchased back in November/Dec- but the traditional February sales cycles tells me to be on the lookout for great deals on steaks, pork ribs, seafood etc. I already found oatmeal about half price (it's National Hot Breakfast month)
