2012 $50 Weekly Menu Plan Week #42 – October is National Pork Month, as such it’s worth noting that there are some great deals to be found on various cuts of pork. Even though we have several pounds of frozen pork from previous deals, this week became a Meat Restocking week!

We picked up chops, boneless country cut spare ribs, pork loins, bacon and boston butt (for only .99 a pound!). We also purchased lettuce, celery, spinach, pears, 2 cans of tuna, a can of black olives, milk, a jar of yeast and coffee. Grand total spent $89.11 (If you’ve been following our weekly menu plans you’ll see that we have stayed below our weekly $50 budget. The leftover amounts get rolled over into our meat or pantry restocking week budget. We harvested 3 large green peppers, a handful of jalapeno peppers, several pounds of sweet potatoes and about a quart of cherry tomatoes from our garden.
