    2013 $50 Weekly Menu Plan Week #33: I thought the garden had taken a turn for the worse last week, but the cooler weather (only in the low 90's!) seemed to have given it renewed life and we were lucky to gather fresh tomatoes, cukes, carrots and a couple more zucchini this week. Our total budget spent this week came to a whopping $28.66 and this is what we bought...
    yogurt, almond milk, bananas, green peppers, shrimp, artisan lettuce, celery, marshmallows, hershey bars (on sale), loaf of italian
    bread (half price), oatmeal, frozen spinach, and apricot jam.

    Breakfast Options for this week: I cooked 4 dozen hard boiled eggs this morning to have quick bursts of protein on the run. In the meantime, here are a few other dishes that are listed on the menu plan with the normal take it or leave it option. Some weeks it seems I plan for all of these things and the kids mainly eat the hard boiled eggs because they're training for sports or weightlifting.

    • Midday Gathering/ Pool Party with Friends: Bringing Turkey Sticky Balls, couple jars of homemade salsa, homemade tortilla chips

    Drinks Available:
    * Iced Tea (Unsweetened or Sweet Tea)
    * Coffee
    * Hot Chocolate/Cocoa
    * Iced Coffee Drinks
    * Almond Milk
    * Lemonade

    Less Likely to be used, but still available:
    * Copycat Gatorade
    * CopyCat Arizona Green Tea

    We raise a few chickens, ok, to be completely honest about 3 dozen now! And get anywhere from 2-3 dozen eggs per day.

      I don't understand how your saying its only so much a week and you are eating chicken, fish, hamburger etc and its not shown as a purchase that week on the weekly budget

      You'll need to either read the ebooks or read the past menu plans. There are meat restocking weeks where the main purchases are meats, so the majority of the budget can be spent on fresh fruits and vegetables.

      Here's an example meat restocking week:

      For me it is still the basic one step that people tend to ignore. Just use your shopping list and stick to it, so simple! I use the app on my phone which is always with me and also automatic sync with the rest of my family.
