• Caribbean Grilled Steak

Can't get away to the Caribbean? You're not alone- bring the Taste of the Caribbean to your table! Caribbean Grilled steak boasts bold flavors of lime, pineapple, garlic and cumin for a melt in your mouth steak . . .

Complimented with seasoned skewered pineapple chunks, this Caribbean grilled steak boasts a mouthful of flavor at a reasonable price. Marinating even tougher cuts of meat gives it a chance to become tender and delicious!

    You'll Need:

2 tsp dried minced garlic or 1 Tbs Fresh
    minced garlic
    1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp minced dried onion or 1 tbs finely chopped fresh onion
    1 tsp Dried Oregano leaves
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper (not ground!)
    1 tsp Salt
1 1/2 lbs of Steak - this will tenderize even tougher cuts of cheaper meat.
    3 Tbs Olive Oil
    1/4 c. Fresh Lime Juice
1 -20 oz Can Pineapple Chunks, drained

In a small bowl combine all the spices, lime juice and olive oil. Reserve a couple tablespoons of mixture in a small bowl for later.

Marinate the steaks for at 30 minutes, but no longer than 8 hours in the mixture. Thread Pineapple chunks onto skewers and brush with the reserved mixture. Grill the steaks over
medium-high heat for 5-6 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of your steaks the level of doneness that you prefer, brushing them occasionally during the grilling with the marinating sauce. Grill the pineapple skewers alongside the steaks, turning occasionally they'll take about 5 minutes in all.

This is excellent served with a nice salad and the skewers on the side. The grilled pineapple imparts a wonderful tropical flavor with the beef, but can easily be left out if you don't happen to have any on hand.
