• 2013 $50 Weekly Menu Plan Week #45

    2013 $50 Weekly Menu Plan Week #45: The holidays are sneaking up on us already so like many families, we've begun watching the sales for decent deals on turkey and ham. Following last weeks pantry restocking week, this week we're focusing on fresh fruits and veggies. Total Spent was . . .
    $48.32 Pomegranates are in season and are extremely cheap right now, as little as .25 each, so although we don't really need them, I picked up a few to make fresh homemade juice.

    From the Farmers Market & Store: Pomegranates, grapes, fresh pineapple, cream cheese, 10#'s of bacon, artisan lettuce, bell pepper, celery, vanilla yogurt

    From the Garden: jalapenos
    From our Backyard: Fresh Eggs
    Leftover from Last week: Apples, Bananas

    Breakfast Options for this week: Fresh Apples, Bananas, pomegranates, grapes, Fresh Pineapple

    Various Snacks & Desserts:

    Drinks Available:
    * Iced Tea (Unsweetened or Sweet Tea)
    * Coffee
    * Hot Chocolate/Cocoa
    * Iced Coffee Drinks
    * Almond Milk
    * Lemonade

    Less Likely to be used, but still available:
    * Copycat Gatorade
    * CopyCat Arizona Green Tea
    FYI: The 10#'s of bacon that we mentioned in the shopping list is a bulk box that our local piggly wiggly offers on occasions. You never know when they're going to have it available, so we grab one when we see it and repackage and freeze it until we need it. Lots of recipes call for only a few slices at a time.
