    2014 $50 Budget Menu Plan Week #27: Planning ahead for a holiday weekend can be exciting and frustrating at the same time. If you worried about which dishes to bring that will compliment what someone else is bringing, or whether you'll have two of the same thing, etc. This weeks menu plan focuses on multiple . . .potluck get togethers' to celebrate the fourth.

    This week we purchased the following: Strawberries, blueberries, a pear, apples, kiwi, heavy cream, cream cheese, American Cheese,
    Cabbage, portabella mushrooms, feta cheese, whole chicken, nectarines, plums, bananas, 10#'s Bacon ($2.49 a pound), tea bags

    From our Backyard: Fresh Eggs (Getting nearly 3 dozen per day)

    From our Windowsill/ Garden: Chives, Scallions, Fresh Herbs (Cilantro, Parsley, Rosemary, dill, oregano, basil, mint), Spinach, beet greens, onions (grown from scraps), green peppers, Cucumbers, zucchini, Tomatoes, watermelon

    Total spent this week on groceries $55.74

    Now, before you read the menu and say wait a minute, they didn't buy any

    FYI: The Shrimp mentioned in this weeks menu was caught on the coast using a Cast net. It took most of the day, but we finally got the hang of it!!

      When do you normally post the weekly menu? I typically go shopping on Fridays but would like to incorporate some of your weekly meals into my menu. Just trying to see if I can plan ahead.
