Here’s an inexpensive tasty yet filling dish to feed a crowd.. Potato Bar Chili. This entire meal figures out to be about .51¢ per serving, so it’s very inexpensive to prepare, yet filling and healthy. This recipe is known as “potato bar chili” – it makes a hearty crockpot style dish to bring to gatherings, for a crowd you could just wrap the baked potatoes in tinfoil to keep them hot by placing them in a small cooler that has been washed thoroughly.

You’ll Need:
1 1/2 pounds ground turkey or beef
2 medium onions, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (16 ounces) chili beans, undrained
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Cheddar Cheese, shredded
Baked potatoes or sweet potatoes

Brown the ground meat or turkey in a skillet, then drain any excess grease. Add the diced onions and peppers, saute about 3 minutes, then add tomatoes, chili beans, sugar, chili powder, salt and pepper. Bring it to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer about 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serve the chili over freshly baked potatoes or sweet potatoes, top with cheddar cheese.
