Well this weeks menu plan was shot all to hell by an unexpected family emergency that left one of our immediate family members in ICU.
This week we purchased the following: Not a damn thing.

Monday February 23rd Thru - Sunday March 2nd:
I have to say, I was a bit taken aback by the poor food quality/choices offered by the hospital. Here's
- A bowl of Hot water with a Packet of Herb Ox Brand Chicken Bouillon.
- A Single serve of Lemon or Orange Jello.
- A 4 oz 7up or Gingerale (depending on the day).
We had to Request WATER to drink.
While I understand that a liquid diet is medically necessary in some cases and usually for a short period of time, I found myself wondering aloud to multiple staff- where's the nutrition? I see Sodium, Sugar, Sugar and more sugar. How exactly is a person supposed to regain ANY strength what-so-ever
Wouldn't bone broth or consomme at least offer some sort of nutrition? But alas, I watched in horror as meal after meal after meal of sugar laden sodium junk was provided, at an expense of about $100 a plate, so to speak.
So, with that all in mind, our weekly menu plan went quickly by the wayside and all plans went right out the window. The saving grace in our household was the pre-made meals that were in the freezer.
