Combine the flavors of green and red bell peppers, balsamic vinegar and a host of seasonings to create a perfectly marinated steak.
1 Large Onion, Cut into thin Slices
1 Large Green Pepper Cut into thin Slices
1 1/2 pounds beef steak or venison, any cut
1/2 c. Balsamic Vinegar
1 pkg Good Seasons Italian Dressing Mix(homemade works great!)
1/3 c. Olive Oil
1 Tsp Dijon Mustard
Mix seasoning, olive oil and balsamic vinegar until well blended. Place the sliced onions & peppers in a ziploc or vacuum seal bag. Place the steaks on top. Pour the marinade over all. Seal and place in fridge for at least 24 hours.
This freezes well if you like to marinate your steak for long periods of time. I prefer to use the vacuum sealer when using this method because it really forces the marinade into the meat and veggies.
So, how do you actually cook this?
We wrap the onions/Peppers in tinfoil and toss it on the grill to cook beside the steaks while they cook on the grill. How long to cook steak depends entirely on the temperature of your grill (I like to cook on medium/low) and how well done you prefer your steak, (we like ours medium rare).
