Make your own delicious cranberry sauce for the holidays this year. This flavorful sauce takes just a few minutes to prepare and is perfect with turkey.
1 c. water
1 c. sugar
1 bag cranberries, rinsed, drained
Combine water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Bring to a rolling boil, add full bag of cranberries, bring to a boil once more, reduce heat, simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
Pour into a mold or dish and cool to room temperature. Then refrigerate. Unmold just prior to serving. This can be made up to 3 days ahead of serving time.
For a little zip, you can add 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and a dash of cloves, if desired.
I made a sauce that used OJ. This looks easier, and maybe my husband will like this better than the canned stuff. 🙂
I’ve tried the oj one before too and I liked it okay, but I like the strong sweet-tart flavor of the berries in this one. I also made some the other day and added a dash of cinnamon & cloves to it, just a dash. I was surprised at how nice Spiced cranberry sauce is! Very Yummy.
I think I’ll a just a little Orange zest to this when I make it.
