Need a little something different for snacking? In an effort to add Omega 3 & Omega 6 in all natural forms into our diet, I was inspired to create this super easy snack recipe. These Smokin’ Hot heart healthy nuts store very well and make lovely inexpensive gifts .
3 T. Butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 to 1 1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce
1/2 tsp salt
3 c. walnut halves
Preheat the oven to 250F
Melt the butter in a small skillet, add hot sauce, garlic and salt, sauteing for 1 minute. Toss walnuts into the butter mixture, spread into a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 1 hr, stirring every 15 minutes or until walnuts are crisp.
This recipe works well with Pecans as well.
