Nothing says childhood memories like Ramen Noodles and Spam! Ramen spam doodles combine the flavors of spam seasoned lightly with garlic and green onions, sauteed in sesame oil for a slightly Asian flavor.
Ingredients Needed:
- 2 packages of chicken ramen noodles, broken up slightly
- 4 cups of water
- 1 can of spam, diced into small cubes
- 1/2 cup of green peas
- 1/2 cup of green onions, sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
In a medium size saucepan, bring water to a boil over high heat. Add both packages of ramen noodles and peas. Cook 3 minutes, drain.
While the noodles are cooking, heat the sesame oil in a small frying pan, add green onion and spam cubes, stirring occasionally to evenly brown the cubes. Once browned add the contents of the frying pan to the cooked ramen, add seasoning packets and garlic powder, mixing well. Serve!
This is a hearty dish that is quite filling. Although spam used to be a fairly inexpensive staple for many homes, this particular recipe has become more of a comfort food from our childhood days.
