Jalapeno Poppers are one of our favorite “naughty Indulgence” foods and we wanted to recreate the flavor, but without heating up the kitchen during these sweltering summer months. Here is a fabulous recipe that you can throw together quickly for tailgating, get together’s or just an easy appetizer!
8 oz softened Cream Cheese
3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
6 slices Bacon, cooked crispy and chopped
2 Jalapeno Peppers, seeded and finely diced
1 clove Garlic
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1 tsp Lime Juice
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
¼ tsp ground cumin
Mix the chopped jalapeno peppers and bacon in a shallow bowl. In a another bowl (or stand mixer) combine the cream cheese, garlic, cheese, parsley, lime juice, Worcestershire sauce and cumin, mixing well until it’s smooth and all the ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.
Add the Cheddar cheese and HALF of the Jalapeno pepper/bacon mixture. Mix well and form the mixture into a ball by scraping down the sides.
Roll the cheeseball in the remaining chopped jalapeno pepper and bacon mixture until it’s completely covered. Cover tightly for about an hour or so prior to serving for the flavors to really marry.
Serve with Crackers, Your friends will ADORE you for this!
