Grocery Shopping 101 Grocery Talk $50 a week on food only?

    I just want to clarify that the $50 is on food only? Or does that include other things I would also get while purchasing groceries like toothpaste, soap, paper towels?

    Most of the other stuff is homemade, toothpaste we get for free using coupons, deodorant we make ourselves, TP- well, it’s an expense that cant be avoided.

    I would ditch the milk and add pasta and some sort of hard cheese if it was relatively inexpensive. I haven’t drank milk in decades. I would also add some sort of

    I add all my households seperately because I dont need them every month and can track better. I’m very lucky! I work in housekeeping at a hotel if its half a roll or less we take it out so I havent bought toilet paper but maybe twice in 2 years!!

    That’s hilarious! My brother used to work at a sub sandwich place and would always bring home the leftover subs.

    For 2 years our grocery budget was just about non-existant.

    Meat is pretty expensive in the long run and can rack up the food bill really fast. You could still eat meat but consider buying meat just twice a week.
